Toivu or Lempi???

Tomorrow March 12th, Amanda goes in for her Ultra-sound where they will be able to tell her boy or girl! YIPPEE!

I often tease my son in law about names for the baby... telling him that good boy names are Toivu or Eino... and girls names... Lempi or Olga! Olga by the way was my grandmother (my father's mother's name)! But... they aren't having none of those names!

Can't wait till tomorrow... then I can shop for more than "neutral" colors! hahaha!

Baby it's COLD outside!!!!

I am beginning to think that never again are we going to have warm weather!

It's been so cold here... brrrrrr This morning I woke up at 6:30am and it was 24 below zero! My poor little doggies... they did NOT want to go out there and do their thing! Poor babies would just lift up their paws and cry, then look at me with those sad sad eyes... wondering why I was making them freeze their paws! I should of invested in some Doggie Winter boots for their little paws!

Mark's Birthday!

Mark doesn't actually have a birthday this year, yes that's right... he is a 'leap year' baby! So, usually we celebrate his birthday on the 28th... we used to celebrate it on March 1st (that was his father's birthday) so we would have one birthday for the both of them.... Since Mark's father passed on we do the 28th!

This year I had to work both, Feb 28th and March 1st... So I haven't been able to do nothing for my Hubby's birthday. I'm so glad his sister Carolynn and her husband Steve came up for the week-end and spent time with Mark for his birthday! Tomorrow Mark and I are going to Ontonagon so, I think I'll take him out to dinner tomorrow for his birthday... his choice of where!

My Pregnant daughter!

Here is my pregnant daughter, Amanda Sue Bloxton (Irwin). Isn't she just beautiful!!!!! Her due date is August 14, 2009!

Back In Florida

Well, my Mom is back to Silver Springs, Florida. She left Wednesday, Feb 18th. I'm glad she is out of the cold cold weather up here... but, Florida is so far away!

Jack!

We have a new 'canine' grandson. His name is Jack! Amanda and Mark picked him out at their local Animal Shelter in Ocala, Florida. Though I have not yet met Jack in person... the stories about him are quite humorous.

Amanda has had Rick for many years now, since she lived at home and was going to high school. Even though Ricky is an original "yooper poodle" he's adjusted to living a southern life and just does not like cooler weather! Amanda says if the temperature dips down a little... you might just find little Ricky snuggled under the nearest blanket... peeping out at you with those big brown eyes!

You can see in the picture how "happy" Jack looks to have a new family... and Rick... welll Rick just looks annoyed by his new "baby brother"!!!

it's been awhile!

I guess it's been sometimes since I've posted anything to my blog. Since my father's passing... life has just been kind of a blur for me. I'm going through the motions of work and homelife but, things just seem just that... going through the motions! I miss him so much! I watch the news or read something... and I think for a split second... next time I call dad I have to remember to tell him that, and then reality sets in and I realize... he's gone!

And a little over a week ago, we received a phone call from our Son-in-law, Mark. He stated he had just brought Amanda in to the Hospital ER, that Amanda was bleeding heavily and they didn't know what was going on. After the whole night of tests and exams and numerous reassurances that the baby was OK even though what happened to her they were calling a "threatened miscarriage, they sent her home in the morning and told her to see her Doctor Monday morning... after a very very long week-end of checking on her, and making sure she was resting and taking it easy... Monday finally came, she went to her Doctor's appointment and after they examined her they told her Baby was just fine, and they couldn't give her any reason why this happened! It just happens sometimes!

Amanda is so far since the scare doing much better. Pray all goes well and everyone stays healthy!

My Mom will be soon heading back to Florida. Though I'm going to miss her... I think she will thrive much better in the warmer weather. And hopefully we will have an early Spring so she can come home sooner. (hehe.. she's not even gone back yet... and I want her back home already!)

I'm not sure on the date of my Father's burial yet... I know my Mom wanted it to be May 21st, which is her and my Father's wedding Anniversary date. This would of been their 54th Anniversary!
